The School Counseling Office invites the entire school to participate in a variety of events that are designed to help increase awareness of the steps involved in applying to college. Be on the lookout for invitations, special announcements and special programs for students in all grades. Any students that would be the first in their family to attend college are especially encouraged to participate.

Freshman students and their parents are invited to talk with counselors about making the transition to high school. Counselors will be on hand to discuss supports and resources available to help students with issues such as organization and time management.

College Planning/Financial Aid Night

All students and parents are strongly encouraged to attend this event. The evening will include presentations about applying to college and understanding financial aid for 11th and 12th graders and their families. Freshmen and Sophomores and their families will receive a special session about early steps that students can take to prepare themselves to apply to colleges. Carver Center School Counselors will also be on hand to showcase the tools available to Carver students as they navigate the college application process.

Parent Session - Organization and Time Management Resources for High School and Beyond

Parents (and students) are invited to join us for a session which outlines supports available to help students managing executive function challenges. School Counselors will answer individual questions and provide personalized support as well as connect students and families with additional resources.

 

CCBC Presentation - Learn about Taking College Classes at CCBC while in High School
