Green Campus

Carver Center is committed to providing a technologically advanced and energy efficient school facility. It is our goal to provide a clean, attractive, safe, and secure environment that promotes student learning, study, and performance. We believe a healthy environment is key to student learning and success. A healthy environment also saves natural and financial resources.

Our current school building models this goal through our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint through recycling efforts, promoting energy conservation, using technology to reduce paper consumption, and using products made from recycled materials.

Carver Center’s school building models this goal, not only once it is completed and open, but also throughout the design and construction phase. The building has been designed to meet the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) for Schools criteria by the U.S. Green Building Council. The LEED for Schools Rating System recognizes the unique nature of the design and construction of K-12 schools. It addresses issues such as classroom acoustics, master planning, mold prevention, and environmental site assessment. Carefully planned acoustics and abundant daylight make it easier and more comfortable for students to learn. Clean indoor air cuts down on sick days and gives students a head start for a healthy, prosperous future. In addition, the innovative design provides a wealth of hands-on learning opportunities.
