What: promotes cultural pride and awareness by celebrating Black history, heritage, and achievements. It provides students with opportunities to engage in meaningful discussions, community service, and cultural experiences such as field trips and events. What: The Carver Center Step Team is a dynamic group of students dedicated to showcasing the art of step as a powerful form of expression and unity. Their mission is not only to perform but also to teach others about the cultural significance of step and inspire pride, confidence, and community spirit. Through rhythm, movement, and teamwork, they aim to uplift and empower those around them.

What: ITS recognizes, rewards, and encourages student achievement and celebrates the work of students in all aspects of theatre – performance and production. While membership in ITS requires specific requirements to be met, students can attend and participate in ITS activities at any time and can participate prior to induction. ITS also looks at theatre as a method for community and social outreach.

What: Meet old friends, make new ones playing the worlds best storytelling games. All game systems are welcome, all players welcome. Solve puzzles, talk your way out of trouble, or clash in epic battles with fantastical creatures and foes. We also encourage board and card games.

What: This is a club for students who are interested in learning how to juggle, perform diabolo, or perform poi. Students will get to learn and practice alongside their peers as they hone their craft. Certified members get to perform annually during the Rennaissance Festival and Carver Celebration.

wildcat logo National Honor Society for Dance Arts - Ms. Royals
What: This honor society recognizes dance students with outstanding participation and achievement in dance. Students in the 10th, 11th and 12th grade may apply in the Spring semester for membership. Criteria for membership includes: number of hours in dance classes, both inside and outside of school; character references from dance teachers and academic teachers; GPA (minimum 3.0 overall, minimum 3.5 for dance class).
Members organize, support and participate in school-wide and dance specific events such as Culture Fest, Magnet Showcase, Magnet Assessments, Annual Food Drives, Maryland Dance Alliance performances, Renaissance Festival, Dance prime mentor programs and other activities.

Wildcat CC Logo Inertia Dance Company - Ms. Royals & Ms. Powell
What: Any Carver Center student may audition for the Inertia Dance company. Casting for the company is completed by dance staff and Senior student choreographers, based solely on performance at the audition. Only students present. at the audition will be considered for company works. Students rehearse works choreographed by students and/or faculty.
Selected members of the Inertia Dance Company perform at the Inertia Winter Dance Concert, Inertia Spring Dance Concert and a variety of local, state and regional dance festivals. Dance company students make a commitment to being available for all concert performances and rehearsals and following all expectations for professionalism established by the Carver Center Dance Prime. Please reach out to Ms. Powell or Ms. Royals for details and further information.
