The Carpentry Careers program provides students with information and
experience related to residential and
commercial construction. Students are also
taught the unique skills associated with set
construction, theatre set-up, and related
performing arts project construction.
Students who successfully complete the
program are eligible for advanced placement
in the Associated Builders and Contractors'
(ABC) Apprentice Program. They may also be
eligible for advanced placement and/or
testing opportunities through other union or
non-union apprenticeship programs and
National Craft Assessment and Certification
(NCCER).
Students employ skills and techniques necessary for woodworking and the construction industry, as well as stage design and construction. Students develop a strong work ethic and the interpersonal skills necessary to work with others and to respect the abilities of others. They are prepared to study at the post-secondary level or to enter a career path.
