Opportunities in the Science Department


Science National Honor Society

The purpose of Carver Center’s chapter of the Science National Honor Society is to create an enthusiasm for scientific and intellectual thought, to advance knowledge of classical and modern science, to motivate a desire to render service and to promote worthy leadership.  Members of this society are expected to uphold the civic, ethical, scholastic and extra-curricular standards set by the school and community.  A member must be at least a junior, have an overall weighted GPA of 3.75 and an un-weighted GPA of 3.5 in their science courses.  Members must have been enrolled in at least two honors level science courses prior to junior year and must be enrolled in a GT, or AP course during or prior to their twelfth grade year.  

 

Physics Olympics

Physics Students are invited to compete against other teams from Baltimore County High Schools.  The event date will be announced in Physics classes.

 

Chemathon

Chemistry Students are invited to compete against other teams from other Baltimore County High Schools.  The event date will be announced in Chemistry classes.
