Carver Center is known throughout the county for its prestigious and rigorous magnet programs. Carver Center academic courses are also praised throughout the county for their enormous achievement. Carver Center offers academic classes in Technology Education, Science, English, Social Studies, World Languages, Mathematics, and Physical Education. Standard, honors, gifted and talented, and advanced placement programs are offered at Carver Center.
Mathematics
Carver Center’s Mathematics department supports BCPS Blueprint 2.0 by creating a culture of deliberate excellence for every student. We focus on the commitment to engage all students in mathematics and teach curricula that focus on problem solving, communication, and critical thinking skills. Carver Center’s Mathematics department’s goal is to prepare every student to reach their potential and become a globally competitive, mathematically literate citizen.

Science
Science National Honor Society
The purpose of Carver Center’s chapter of the Science National Honor Society is to create an enthusiasm for scientific and intellectual thought, to advance knowledge of classical and modern science, to motivate a desire to render service and to promote worthy leadership. Members of this society are expected to uphold the civic, ethical, scholastic and extra-curricular standards set by the school and community. A member must be at least a junior, have an overall weighted GPA of 3.75 and an un-weighted GPA of 3.5 in their science courses. Members must have been enrolled in at least two honors level science courses prior to junior year and must be enrolled in a GT, or AP course during or prior to their twelfth grade year.
Physics Olympics
Physics Students are invited to compete against other teams from Baltimore County High Schools. The event date will be announced in Physics classes.
Chemathon
Chemistry Students are invited to compete against other teams from other Baltimore County High Schools. The event date will be announced in Chemistry classes.

Technology Education
Technology Education’s goal is to ensure all students are technologically literate, which is the ability to use, manage, understand, and assess technology. It provides an opportunity for students to learn about the processes and knowledge that are needed to solve problems and extend human capabilities. Technology Education uses the application of mathematics and science concepts in order to solve problems in areas such as, but not limited to: construction, manufacturing, communications, transportation, biotechnology, and power and energy.
